Lehigh Carbon Community College

Greetings from the Center for Innovative Teaching and Engaged Learning (CITEL) at Reinhardt University. CITEL faculty are working hard to deliver on our mission to foster a campus culture that values collaboration and interaction among teachers and students in order to nurture innovation in the practice of teaching and to emphasize the role of engagement in learning, at Reinhardt University and in its surrounding communities.

CITEL provides in-person and online workshops, resources for course planning and instructional design, white papers on innovative instructional practices, and consultation services. CITEL was established by a generous grant from the Goizueta Foundation, and manages internal grants made possible by these funds. Learn more about Faculty-Student HIP grants, Teaching and Learning grants, and Program grants. CITEL also coordinates the Reinhardt University QEP, “Where in the World RU Going?”

CITEL annually recognizes both professors and students through the Innovative Teaching Award, the Adjunct Teaching Award, and the Engaged Learner Award.

We are excited to see our Center evolve into a hub of conversation centering around innovative teaching practices that engender engaged student learning. We hope that you will join us and be a part of our invigorating discussions.

Canvas Workshops

These workshops are contained in a self-paced Canvas Course. Though there are two workshops listed, they are subcomponents of a single course, Canvas Basic Online Training.

  • Canvas Bare Minimums: Modules 1-5 of Canvas Basic Online Training. Faculty who complete Modules 1-5 will learn how to customize their course cards, upload a syllabus, set up their grade book with assignments, take attendance, and receive the Canvas Bare Minimums Badge, Level 1.
  • Canvas Course Checklist: Modules 6-13 of Canvas Basic Online Training. Faculty who complete Modules 6-13 will learn how to use the Reinhardt Canvas Template to build a Canvas course that meets all 1-star requirements of the Canvas Course Evaluation Checklist and will receive the Checker of Lists Badge, Level 1.
