3.13.1 Policy Compliance: Accrediting Decisions of Other Agencies

The institution complies with the policies of the Commission on Colleges (Policy compliance)

Applicable Policy Statement. Any institution seeking or holding accreditation from more than one U.S. Department of Education recognized accrediting body must describe itself in identical terms to each recognized accrediting body with regard to purpose, governance, programs, degrees, diplomas, certificates, personnel, finances, and constituencies, and must keep each institutional accrediting body apprised of any change in its status with one or another accrediting body.

Narrative

At Reinhardt, the Provost serves as the appointed accreditation liaison and maintains familiarity and compliance with Commission policies.  The Provost regularly reviews commission policies, ensures university compliance with commission policies, and oversees integration of commission policy expectations into university operations.  The Director of Institutional Research & Effectiveness supports the Provost in this role.

Reinhardt describes itself in identical terms with regard to purpose, governance, programs, degrees, diplomas, certificates, personnel, finances, and constituencies to the Southern Association of Colleges and Schools Commission on Colleges (SACSCOC), the Georgia Professional Standards Commission (GAPSC) and the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).

As stated in the attached letter from the PSC dated December 20, 2010, Reinhardt’s teacher education programs were granted continued approval. [1]  The next time the teacher education programs undergo re-approval will be in the Fall of 2018. Price School of Education keeps the Georgia Professional Standards Commission apprised of any changes submitted annually and has received no negative comments as of September 1, 2017.

As stated in the letter from NASM dated July 3, 2012, Reinhardt University’s music programs were granted continued accreditation. [2]  The next time the programs undergo re-affirmation will be in the spring of 2018.  The School of Performing Arts keeps NASM apprised of any changes submitted annually and has received no negative comments as of September 1, 2017.

There is no pending or final action being brought by any Georgia state agency to suspend, revoke, withdraw, or terminate the University’s legal authority to provide postsecondary education in the state of Georgia.

There are also no decisions by any other agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to deny accreditation or candidacy. There are also no pending or final actions being brought by any other accrediting agency recognized by the U.S. Department of Education to deny accreditation, nor is the University on probation or any equivalent status with any such agency. Reinhardt University has not had accreditation terminated for any reason, nor has it voluntarily withdrawn accreditation from any federally recognized agency.
