3.2.1 CEO Evaluation/Selection

Narrative

Article I.5 of the Reinhardt University Bylaws states that the Board of Trustees is responsible for the selection and evaluation of the President, the University’s chief executive officer. [1] The Board is authorized to appoint a presidential search committee to make recommendations to the full Reinhardt University Board of Trustees.  The full Board of Trustees then selects a candidate for president. Minutes of the February 10, 2015 Board of Trustees meeting indicate unanimous approval of Kina S. Mallard as the current president of Reinhardt University. [2]  In addition, emails documenting the work of the Presidential Search Committee are provided in the supporting documentation. [3, 4, 5]

In addition, the Executive Committee of the Reinhardt University Board of Trustees is responsible for conducting annual evaluations of the President. The evaluation addresses the performance of the President in achieving the annual and long-term goals and objectives of the University. These evaluations are documented in the Reinhardt University Executive Committee minutes dated March 18, 2014 [6], March 17, 2015 [7], March 31, 2016 [8], and March 21, 2017 [9]. An example of the evaluation form used by the Board of Trustees to evaluate the President is included in the supporting documentation. [10] A completed evaluation is on file in the President’s Office.
