Distance learning—professional bachelor’s degrees

Reinhardt’s professional degree-completion programs are delivered online or in hybrid form.  These programs include the Bachelor of Business Administration (B.B.A.), Bachelor of Criminal Justice (B.C.J.), Bachelor of Healthcare Administration (B.H.A.), and Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Organizational Management and Leadership. Like the face-to-face bachelor degree programs for traditional students, these programs require minimum of 120 semester credit hours.

Second degrees

A student who earns a first bachelor degree from Reinhardt University or another regionally accredited college or university may earn a second bachelor degree from Reinhardt in a different program by completing the required courses for that major.  The candidate must also complete a minimum of 32 additional semester credit hours in residence at Reinhardt, [8] as illustrated by a 2015 transcript [9] and a 2017 transcript.[10] This policy is consistent with Reinhardt’s residency requirement—32 of the last 45 semester credit hours—for a first degree.

Degree audits to ensure program length

As a sample degree audit illustrates, [11] a student’s progress towards a degree and degree completion are checked by a faculty advisor. Two semesters before a student plans to complete a degree, he or she applies for a degree completion audit.  This application includes a copy of the advisor’s record of courses. A professional administrator from the Registrar’s Office assesses each student’s record. The student then receives a formal letter communicating the remaining course work needed to complete a degree.  Before the final degree is confirmed, the administrator and the Registrar double-check the student’s final record. Through these levels of auditing, Reinhardt ensures the appropriate program length requirements of each degree.

Conclusion

Using the semester credit hour to determine program length, all Reinhardt  degree programs require at least 60 semester credit hours for the associate’s degree programs, at least 120 semester credit hours for the bachelor’s degree programs, and at least 30 semester credit hours for the master’s degree programs.
