Dr. Roberta Rust will be wowing Reinhardt University students and the community as she takes the stage in Flint Hall at Falany Performing Arts Center for a 50-minute recital, with a masterclass to follow.

Rust is a professor of piano at Lynn University, located in Boca Raton, Florida. She has performed internationally in prestigious venues such as Carnegie Hall’s Weill Recital Hall, New York’s Merkin Concert Hall, Rio de Janeiro’s Sala Cecilia Meireles, Washington’s Corcoran Gallery, Havana’s Basilica and Seoul’s KNUA Hall.

“One of my biggest goals is to help distinguish Reinhardt as a beacon of artistic excellence in the entire southeastern region of the United States,” said Dr. Alexander Wasserman, assistant professor of music. “It is my desire to provide the students in our School of Performing Arts a dynamic and cutting-edge experience, and this includes performances by not only our own faculty, but by visiting artists as well.”

The masterclass will feature some of North Georgia’s best young pianists as they have the opportunity to learn from an experienced, professional and exemplary pianist.

The recital and masterclass are free and open to the public beginning at 3 p.m. on Jan. 12.
