Director of the Funk Heritage Center

Reinhardt University invites applications for the Director of the Funk Heritage Center. The mission of the Funk Heritage Center is to tell the story of the early Appalachian Settlers and Southeastern Indians through educational programming and the collection, care and exhibition of art and artifacts. The museum has recently become an interpretive site for the Trail of Tears.

The University seeks an experienced museum manager, engaging teacher, servant-leader, and effective scholar-practitioner who will actively contribute to the mission of the Funk Heritage Center and Reinhardt University’s mission, which is to educate the “whole person.” The University also seeks a Director who will actively work toward the institution’s strategic goal to become a “destination for faith, arts, culture, and learning.”

Qualifications

The position requires at least an earned master’s degree from a regionally accredited institution in an academic field closely aligned with the position. Candidates should also present at least seven years of managerial or curatorial experience in a museum. Candidates should show a record of setting and achieving organizational goals.
