Reinhardt University Blanche Hagan United Methodist Scholarships

Reinhardt University offers three types of Blanche Hagan Scholarships. Each program has a maximum annual budget, and funds are awarded on a first-come, first-serve basis. Hagan applicants are encouraged to apply early. To be considered, the Hagan application and all supporting documents must be received by July 1 of the year PRIOR to enrollment. Applications are reviewed and awarded only once a year.  A student can only receive one United Methodist Scholarship funded by Reinhardt University.

Criteria for all Hagan Award Recipients:

Blanche Hagan Scholarship for United Methodist Youth

For applicants with a 3.0 academic GPA and a 1000 SAT (test prior to March 2016) / 1080 SAT (test after March 2016) / 21 ACT — $2,000 maximum per year (divided equally for fall and spring terms).


For applicants with a 2.0 academic GPA and an 860 SAT (test prior to March 2016) / 940 SAT (test after March 2016) / 18 ACT — $1,000 maximum per year (divided equally for fall and spring terms).

An applicant must meet the following requirements:

  1. be an active member of a United Methodist Church in the North or South Georgia Conference.
  2. have two letters of recommendation from church officials verifying participation in church activities.
  3. have graduated from high school within the last five years.

Hagan Scholarship for Dependent Children of United Methodist Ministers

Covers up to $12,000 a year in tuition (up to 18 credit hours/semester for fall and spring only). 

An applicant must meet the following requirements:

  1. be a dependent of a minister in the North or South Georgia Conference of The United Methodist Church, as documented by a letter from District Superintendent verifying the parent’s church appointment.
  2. have graduated from high school within the past five years.
  3. Have a 2.0 grade-point average (GPA) and an 860 SAT (test prior to March 2016) / 940 SAT (test after March 2016) / 18 ACT.
  4. Transfers students must be accepted and have a cumulative GPA of 2.0.

Blanche Hagan Ministerial Aid Award
