Since its inception in 2017, Pickens Scholars has raised more than $100,000 for deserving local students.

Grant Levels

  • $500 for residents of Pickens County enrolled as full-time students.
  • $1,000 for students who meet the above criteria and have an academic grade-point average of 3.0 or better.
  • $2,000 for students who meet all the above criteria and reside on campus.

Amberle Godfrey, a Reinhardt student and leader in Pickens County, has chaired the Pickens Scholars Committee for two years. As a student, Godfrey sees what a gem Reinhardt is for Pickens County residents. “It is so exciting to see this program grow for our students in Pickens County. We can never go wrong with investing in education."

Each spring, Reinhardt University brings a "Party for a Cause" to downtown Jasper for the annual Shamrock Stroll .5K. After the quick stroll through downtown, everyone gathers for live music and fun, all while raising scholarship dollars for Pickens County students.
