Joe Gransden & His Big Band will perform at the Falany Performing Arts Center on Sept. 20 at 7:30 p.m.
One of the busiest groups on the jazz scene, it features a 16-piece jazz band led by Joe Gransden, a talented band leader, trumpet player and singer. His voice has been compared to Chet Baker and Frank Sinatra.
“Join us for a swingin’ evening of fun at the Falany,” said Jessica Akers, director of the Falany Performing Arts Center. “Joe Gransden is a rising star in the jazz world.”
Gransden began his career touring the world with the big bands of Tommy Dorsey and Glenn Miller. He formed The Joe Grandsen Big Band in 2009 and has performed numerous shows around the country. Clint Eastwood is one of his biggest fans, and the band performs regularly at the actor’s private club in California.
The Joe Gransden Big Band has already released 14 CDs, including the newest, “Go Getta,” with special guest Kenny G.
Tickets are $40 to $45 for adults, $35 to $40 for seniors and $10 to $15 for children (12 and younger). Tickets can be purchased at Reinhardt.edu/falany or by calling the box office at 770-720-9167.
