Reinhardt University’s Phi Beta Lambda chapter is raising money to participate in PBL’s National Leadership Conference competition in Anaheim, California.

Students and advisors will host a car show April 1 at 10 a.m. in the parking lot of Hagan Chapel on the campus of Reinhardt University in Waleska. Entry fee is $25. Donations also are welcome.

Five judges will award for the overall winner, top three cars, top three trucks, athletic director’s pick, SOAR’s pick and students’ pick. Raffle prizes will be given throughout the day.

Advisor Cindy Moss said, generally, seven to eight students qualify for nationals and she expects Reinhardt will have at least three to five qualify this year for nationals.

“In the previous five years, we have had a least half of our students who won at district win at state and qualify for nationals, and we have a strong list of contenders again this year,” Moss said.

Several PBL students at Reinhardt secured their spots in the state competition to be held in downtown Atlanta April 8-10. To be invited to nationals, students must place first or second in performance events or first-, second- or third-place in written events at the state competition.

“This competition helps us build our resumes, meet large company representatives and earn national recognition for our skills in business,” PBL student Ethan Alexander said. “We didn’t want to simply ask the school to fund us, and instead we wanted to showcase our skill by doing an event to raise money.”

Any vehicle can be entered for $25. It is free to walk around and enjoy the show. For more information, contact Ethan Alexander at 678.848.1199.
