Reinhardt University is accepting registrations for its two annual golf tournaments to be held in May.
“The annual golf tournaments are a fantastic way to enjoy beautiful spring weather while engaging in meaningful fellowship and helping Reinhardt students to offset the costs of their education,” said Dale Morrissey, director of Development and External Relations. “Providing scholarships allows students to attend Reinhardt and receive a quality, private college education.”
The Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic is set for May 2 at Hawks Ridge Country Club in Ball Ground. The 28th annual event is named for David Durham Henritze, one of the founders of the Reinhardt University Scholarship Golf Classic in 1989. He chaired the Classic for 10 years. Just prior to his death in 2000, he was honored by having the tournament named after him. Today, his son, Fred, and grandson, Hunter, carry on his tradition as committee leaders for this event.
The Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic supports programs including work/study, which provides all undergraduate students the chance to participate in work experiences on campus. It allows them to gain experience in a professional work setting while they earn their degrees. The Classic also supports scholarships for Reinhardt students.
The 23rd Annual United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing is scheduled for May 18 at Bent Tree Golf Club in Jasper. United Methodist students are eligible to receive up to $2,000 per year and dependents of North and South Georgia United Methodist Clergy may receive up to $12,000 per year from the Reinhardt University Methodist Scholarship Fund.
