Reinhardt University students had the opportunity to meet and give thanks to the donors who help make their educational experience possible.

The Office of Advancement & Marketing hosted the Scholarship Recognition Celebration in the Bannister Glasshouse Jan. 30.

“You are not just writing a check. You are investing in a life. And you are not just investing in a life, you are opening up the world to these students, the world of science and math, the world of music and business, the world of history, the world of leadership, the world of teamwork, the world of nursing, you are opening up the world to these students,” said Reinhardt President Dr. Kina S. Mallard. “As president of Reinhardt University, I say thank you, thank you so much for investing in a promising future for these young men and women.”

During the luncheon, students were able to sit with donors and members of the Board of Trustees, who took a break from their meeting to enjoy the luncheon. They also spoke with Reinhardt University faculty and staff in attendance. The program included musical performances by junior music theatre major Mikensly Clayton and freshman musical theatre major Dalton Myers. Both were accompanied by Reinhardt assistant professor of music Brian Osborne.

Reinhardt University gives more than $10 million per year in institutional aid to students. The aid is made possible by the generous donors who give tax-deductible donations to the University.

“Not all of our students need financial assistance, but 95 percent of them do,” Dr. Mallard said. “They can combine the institutional aid with their federal aid, making Reinhardt University affordable for them.”
