Reinhardt to host two scholarship golf outings this spring

Reinhardt University is providing not one, but two opportunities for the community to get involved and enjoy a fun golf outing while supporting the students of Reinhardt University.

“Our golf outings are a great way for you and/or your business to support Reinhardt University students as they reach their educational goals,” said Dale Morrissey, senior director of constituent engagement.

The 31st Annual Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic – named for longtime Reinhardt trustee Dave Henritze before his death in 2000 – will take place on Tuesday, April 30, at Capital City Club-Crabapple in Milton. Proceeds from the Henritze Golf Classic support annual scholarships, including the University’s work/study program, which provides students the opportunity to gain professional work experience while pursuing a degree.

Henritze Golf Classic chair, Tommy Beman, Mr. Henritze’s protégé in the commercial insurance business, has led the tournament committee since 2014. “David Durham Henritze was one of the finest men I’ve ever known. This event honors Dave’s determination and commitments to make possible a college education for students at Reinhardt and extends the legacy of a great man who believed in Reinhardt and its mission,” said Beman.

The 26th Annual United Methodist Scholarship Golf Outing will take place on Wednesday, May 15, at Bent Tree in Jasper. This event provides support for students entering the ministry, the children of UMC ministers and other UMC students with every dollar going directly to provide annual scholarships.
