Reinhardt University has once again received national recognition for the integrity of its individualized and engaging education.

The University earned the 2019-20 College of Distinction, Georgia, Christian, Business and Education badges.

“It’s an honor to be recognized as a College of Distinction year after year,” said Provost Mark Roberts. “Our faculty and staff work diligently to make sure each student gets the attention he/she needs to be successful at Reinhardt University and long after graduation. We have expanded offerings for majors and minors, and we have put a strong emphasis on High-Impact Practices, which allow students to hone lifelong skills employers are seeking.”

The implementation of High-Impact Practices as part of the Reinhardt Experience was one of the key components in the University’s strategic plan. Reinhardt students have the opportunity to study abroad, conduct undergraduate research, participate in internships and serve their community while learning.

Colleges of Distinction’s selection process consists of detailed interviews and research for each institution’s freshman experience and retention efforts alongside its general education programs, career development, strategic plan, student satisfaction and more. Schools are accepted on the basis that they adhere to the Four Distinctions: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community and Successful Outcomes.

This award is unique among popular college guide classifications, which typically rank schools on the basis of the size of endowment, selectivity and faculty salaries. Reinhardt University instead earns its recognition for the excellence exhibited in the classroom, incorporating High-Impact Practices throughout every student’s undergraduate education. Such student-centered programs include study abroad, undergraduate research, internships, service-learning, first-year seminars, community-based learning programs, alternative spring breaks, interdisciplinary programs, intensive writing courses, living-learning communities and capstone projects.

“We are so proud to see Reinhardt University walking the walk,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer for Colleges of Distinction. “Students learn and thrive best when they embrace hands-on learning in a vibrant, welcoming community. That’s why it’s so encouraging to find Reinhardt University take such an innovative approach with its curriculum. Its High-Impact Educational Practices ensure that the undergraduate experience is worthwhile and unique.”
