Reinhardt University received national recognition once again for the quality of its engaging education.

The University earned the 2020-21 College of Distinction, Georgia, Christian, Business and Education badges.

“Reinhardt is honored to receive continuous recognition from Colleges of Distinction,” said Dr. Mark Roberts, acting president, provost and executive vice president. “Our faculty and staff work with each student to ensure their success during their time at Reinhardt University and long after graduation. We continue to pride ourselves as a living and learning community, and along with a strong emphasis on high-impact practices, students pursue a holistic education that prepares them for the workforce.”

The Reinhardt Experience includes the implementation of high-impact practices, a key component in the University’s strategic plan. Reinhardt’s students have opportunities such as conducting undergraduate research, participating in internships and serving their community while learning.

Colleges of Distinction’s selection process consists of detailed interviews and research for each institution’s freshman experience and retention efforts alongside its general education programs, career development, strategic plan, student satisfaction and more. Schools are accepted on the basis that they adhere to the Four Distinctions: Engaged Students, Great Teaching, Vibrant Community and Successful Outcomes.

This award is unique among popular college guide classifications, which typically rank schools on the basis of the size of endowment, selectivity and faculty salaries. Reinhardt University instead earns its recognition for the excellence exhibited in the classroom, incorporating High-Impact Practices throughout every student’s undergraduate education. Such student-centered programs include study abroad, undergraduate research, internships, service-learning, first-year seminars, community-based learning programs, alternative spring breaks, interdisciplinary programs, intensive writing courses, living-learning communities and capstone projects.

“For the sixth year in a row, Reinhardt University has rightfully earned its title as a College of Distinction,” said Tyson Schritter, chief operating officer of Colleges of Distinction. “It is our honor to recognize a school that so strongly emphasizes the high-impact practices across all of its academic programs. Reinhardt students can research, serve, travel and collaborate throughout all four years, taking advantage of the hands-on experiences that we value most in an undergraduate education. We look forward to seeing how Reinhardt University continues to enrich its already outstanding curriculum.”
