Photographer Jeff Reed ’16 submitted ‘Eagle at Dusk’ to the ‘Cherokee in Photos’ contest held by the Cherokee Office of Economic Development. His work was selected to hang and be featured in the COED’s downtown Woodstock office.
In his role as campus photographer, Jeff Reed ’16 is a much-recognized, much-appreciated part of the Reinhardt University family.
Now, his work has been recognized and is being appreciated by the larger Cherokee County community. A photo he named “Eagle at Dusk” has been chosen and placed at the Cherokee Office of Economic Development’s office in Woodstock, Georgia.
Reed, a Lilburn, Georgia native, came to Reinhardt in 2012 to pursue his bachelor’s degree in Interdisciplinary Studies. Upon graduation in 2016, Reed came to work in a two-year position in Reinhardt’s Office of Marketing and Communication to gain work experience and to prepare for a planned career as a photographer.
“I am thrilled to have my work of Reinhardt’s beautiful campus hanging in the Cherokee Office of Economic Development office in Woodstock,” said Reed. “I truly enjoy seeing Reinhardt’s beauty through the camera lens, especially during times of day that are the most serene, and sharing it with others.”
As part of the grand opening celebration of The Circuit, the COED’s new entrepreneurial incubation space, the organization placed Reed’s photo into its new Cherokee County photo gallery.

“We are incredibly proud of Jeff’s recognition and that others throughout the county and those seeking to relocate their businesses to the area will get to see and appreciate his work,” said Erika Neldner, writer/content specialist for the University, who has worked closely with Reed. “I encouraged Jeff to submit some of his photography, knowing the caliber of his work and the purpose of the ‘Cherokee in Photos’ project – to highlight Cherokee County in various ways and to show prospective businesses what a versatile, community-oriented and beautiful place they could call home.
“‘Cherokee in Photos’ was a great opportunity to highlight Jeff’s work and Cherokee County’s only four-year university. It’s important that prospective businesses know Reinhardt is here and that we offer multitudes of programs to educate their workforce,” she added.
Reed’s work is a regular feature in Reinhardt magazine, various digital/social media outlets from the University and on his own website, thejeffsphotography.com.
