Reinhardt University is offering high school students the opportunity to learn and grow as performers as a part of its Summer Musical Theatre Camp.

This two-week camp will take place July 16-29 from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. in Flint Hall at the Falany Performing Arts Center and will include performance techniques in acting, stage combat, dance and music. Students will get the opportunity to learn from industry professionals from Reinhardt’s faculty including Brian Osborne, Stewart Hawley, Tiffany Tindall and Dave Nisbet.

Not only will students get to work with industry professionals, but they will also get to work with current musical theatre majors who will serve as camp counselors. Students attending the camp will get to experience some of the same training Reinhardt’s musical theatre majors receive in efforts to give an idea of what it would be like to be a musical theatre major in college.

This summer camp will be available for rising freshmen through seniors, as well as graduating seniors. The deadline to register is June 15.

“I love to see young people working through self-doubt,” said Brian Osborne, Music Director for Musical Theatre. “Their confidence grows daily through positive, constructive criticism, and support of teachers and other campers. It’s a great and rewarding process.”

After two weeks of learning and growing, students will put on a showcase on Saturday, July 28 at 7:30 p.m. and Sunday, July 29 at 3 p.m. To learn more or to register, visit Reinhardt.edu/sopacamp.
