Student Worker Program (Work Study)

The Student Worker Program at Reinhardt University is available to qualified undergraduate, degree-seeking students.  Working on the Reinhardt campus can be a rewarding and valuable learning experience.  Participation in the student worker program will allow you to:

  • Gain experience in a work setting while earning a degree
  • Build a resume and obtain job references
  • Earn a paycheck

To apply for student work, visit our Job Openings page and contact the supervisor of the job that is of interest to you.  Supervisors typically interview several candidates and then hire the applicant best suited for the position. 

Student Worker Checklist - How do I apply for a job as a Student Worker?

Please complete the following steps to apply for a Work Study Position: 

___Complete the FAFSA (All U.S. Citizens and Eligible Non-Citizens).

___Complete all other required Financial Aid Documents.

___Register for and maintain 12 or more credit hours of coursework.

___Review the open positions listed on the Financial Aid Student Worker Available Jobs webpage. Positions for 2018-2019 will be posted beginning in late July.

___Contact the Work Study Supervisor listed for the job in which you are interested. Contact information is listed on the website. Work Study supervisors make all hiring decisions.

___Pick up the Student Worker Packet/Agreement for 2018-2019 from your supervisor. Your supervisor will sign your work Student Worker Agreement form. 

___Return the completed Student Worker packet (G-4 and W-4 tax forms, Confidentiality Agreement, Information Technology Acceptable Use Policy, Direct Deposit form, and Student Worker Agreement) to the Office of Student Financial Aid.

___Complete an I-9 Employee Eligibility Verification form and present the required ORIGINAL documentation (no copies, faxes, or photos) needed to complete the I-9 to the Office of Student Financial Aid to verify employment eligibility. 

___Attend a Student Worker Orientation Session (Required)

___Receive an email from the Office of Student Financial Aid providing a clearance date that you may begin work; Supervisors will be copied on this email. You may NOT begin work before the date specified in the email.

Timesheet Due Dates

All timesheets are due in the Office of Student Financial Aid by 12 p.m. (NOON) on the 16th and 1st of each month.

The timesheet must be tallied and signed by the supervisor. Work hours cannot overlap with class or exam times, even if a class ends early, an exam is not held in that class, or the class does not meet on that specific day.  Please pay special attention to the dates students are not allowed to work.

Student Worker Payroll Schedule 2017-2018

Your Student Worker payroll check will be ready for pickup in the Business Office on the 15th and 30th of each month.

Dates Students Cannot Work

2018-2019 Academic Year

Student Workers may not work on the following dates:

  • Any date before August 20
  • Monday, September 3 (Labor Day) - University Closed
  • Thursday, November 22 - Friday, November 23, Thanksgiving Holidays
  • Monday, December 10 - Sunday, January 6, Christmas Holidays (students are limited to working 20 hours in December)
  • Monday, January 21 (Martin Luther King, Jr. Day) - University Closed
  • Friday, April 19 (Good Friday) - University Closed
  • Any date after May 1
