Commencement - Friday, May 3, 2019 at 9:30 am
◆ Participation: To participate in commencement, you must apply for graduation by April 08, 2019. Failure to apply by the deadline will result in your name being omitted from the Commencement Program. All degree requirements, including satisfaction of student financial obligations to the University, must be met by 4:30 p.m. on April 08, 2019. If you have questions regarding your financial obligations, please contact the Business Office at 770-720-5520.
Special Note: Students who have submitted an application to graduate and have courses to complete during summer or mid-summer semesters 2019 must petition to participate in the May 3rd, 2019 commencement ceremony. You must be registered for all courses remaining to meet degree requirements and all financial obligations for the summer/mid-summer classes must be satisfied upon submitting a petition. The form required to petition to participate may be obtained from the Office of the Registrar and must be completed and returned to the Registrar’s Office by Monday, April 08, 2019.

Graduation Fair 2019
◆ Monday, February 25th from 11:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and Tuesday, February 26th from 4:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. in the Reinhardt University Dining Hall.
If you are planning to graduate this Spring or Summer, plan to be at the Graduation Fair. Information on ordering regalia and announcements will be available. Plan early! The Bookstore will provide snacks and door prizes!
Regalia, Commencement Ceremony and Honor Cord Pick Up
◆ Caps & Gowns and Suggested Attire: Commencement regalia are provided at no additional cost. The Reinhardt Bookstore coordinates orders and distribution of regalia. You should place an order for regalia on-line at herffjones.com/college/reinhardt no later than Monday, March 18, 2019 to ensure timely delivery. Cap and gown orders specifying distribution at the Waleska campus will be handed out from 9 a.m. – 5 p.m. from Monday, April 15th – Thursday, May 2nd in the Reinhardt University Bookstore (bottom floor of the Hasty Student Life Center). You will wear only the gown for baccalaureate and both the cap and gown for commencement. If you are a male, wear a dress shirt and tie, black or navy blue pants and dress shoes under your graduation gown. If you are a female, please wear a dark skirt, dress or pants and dress shoes. Caps and gowns will not be handed out at baccalaureate or commencement so please make plans to pick up your regalia during the dates/times listed above. *Note: There will be a considerable amount of walking and some climbing of steps, so please wear appropriate shoes. We recommend no high heels on the turf field.
◆ Commencement Tickets: Tickets will not be required for the Commencement Ceremony. It is recommended that no more than 10 guests per graduate attend the ceremony.
◆ Announcements: Personalized commencement announcements may be ordered through the same website as regalia mentioned above.
◆ Honor cords: For the commencement ceremony, summa cum laude, magna cum laude, and cum laude honors will be determined by the student’s overall cumulative grade-point average (GPA), including course work attempted prior to enrolling at Reinhardt, at the end of Spring 2019 Session I/end of Mid-Fall 2018-2019 Session II grade processing. Graduates receiving Latin Honors will be notified by letter. Honor cords will be distributed by the Registrar’s Office from April 15th – May 1st .
Commencement Rehearsal – Mandatory for all graduating students and staff participating in Commencement
Thursday, May 2, 2019 – Ken White Athletic Field Stadium (Indoor Athletic Facility)
◆ Rehearsal for Commencement will begin promptly at 3:00pm. PLEASE arrive NO LATER than 2:30pm to begin the check-in and practice walk-through! Students check in at the Ken White Indoor Athletic Facility. This is a MANDATORY rehearsal!
Baccalaureate – A religious ceremony celebrating your accomplishment
Thursday, May 2, 2019 - Falany Performing Arts Center Concert Hall on the Waleska Campus
◆ Line-up: Please line up by 6:30 p.m. in room 111 in graduation gowns without caps. The ceremony will begin promptly at 7:00 p.m.
Commencement – An academic celebration of your graduation
Friday, May 3, 2019 - Ken White Athletic Field Stadium (Time: 9:30am)
The event will take place, RAIN or SHINE!
◆ Commencement Processional: Line-up will begin in the Ken White Indoor Athletic Facility promptly at 8:00 a.m. You will march in and sit alphabetically with your school—McCamish School of Business, Price School of Education, School of Arts & Humanities, School of Performing Arts, School of Mathematics and Sciences, and School of Professional Studies. Do not bring valuables to commencement. Please leave all valuables with family as we will not be able to lock rooms. There will be a considerable amount of walking and some climbing of steps, so please wear appropriate shoes.
◆ NOTE: If there are reports of severe weather, the commencement will be delayed until the threat has passed.
◆ Drinks and Refreshments: Will be available for purchase at the ceremony.
◆ Guest admission to the commencement area: Please advise your guests to arrive no later than 8:30 a.m. to allow time for seating prior to the start of the ceremony. Commencement will begin at 9:30 a.m. *Note: The ceremony will be available for viewing via the internet at reinhardt.edu/streaming.
◆ Parking: Reinhardt’s Department of Public Safety and the Cherokee County Sheriff’s Office will assist with parking and traffic flow. Graduating students should park in the Funk Heritage Center and East Hall lots. Your guests may park in any available parking space on campus with exception of designated handicap spaces and fire lanes. Space is limited, so please encourage carpooling.
◆ Handicapped/Disabled parking: If you or your guest(s) currently have a state-approved handicapped parking pass, you will not need an additional one from Reinhardt University. If you or your guest(s) need this accommodation but do not already possess a state-approved pass, please contact the Office of Public Safety at 770-720-5789. Disability parking is located on One Eagle’s Way, behind Isherwood Field House. (One Eagle’s Way will be restricted to handicapped parking only).
