Mark your calendars for Homecoming 2021! This year’s theme, “There’s no place like home,” celebrates the return to a long awaited tradition. Students are excited to be back on campus, attending classes with their peers, and experiencing all that Reinhardt has to offer.
“Homecoming is a time for all students to come together and celebrate Reinhardt,” said Sloane Day, assistant director of student programming and orientation. Based on the line-up of activities planned by the Student Activities Council, students will have plenty of wonderful opportunities to enjoy each other’s company and our beautiful campus.
Activities are planned throughout the week, beginning on Monday, Oct. 18 and culminating on Saturday, Oct. 23 when the Eagles take on Faulkner University from Montgomery, AL. All activities are open to students and alumni unless otherwise noted.
Monday, October 18
- Jersey Day – Wear your favorite team jersey
- Block Party/ Pep Rally, Hasty Plaza and surrounding areas at 7:00 p.m.
Tuesday, October 19
- Twin Day – Find a friend (or more than one friend) and coordinate your clothes for the day
- Movie on the Lawn (“Scooby-Doo”), Intramural Field at 8:00 p.m.
Wednesday, October 20
- Ruby Red Day – Wear red today
- Wizard of Oz Trivia Night, Bannister Glasshouse at 7:00 p.m.
Thursday, October 21
- Western Day – Break out the boots, cowboy hats, bandanas and jeans
- Favorite Memory at Reinhardt (Yellow Brick Road Inspired), Gordy Dining Hall at 12:00 p.m.
- Homecoming Parade, On Campus from Hasty Plaza at 5:30 p.m.
- Fall Fest – President’s House at 6:00 p.m.
Friday, October 22
- RU Day – Show your school spirit today!
- Homecoming Dance, Bannister Glasshouse at 8:00 p.m. *This event is for students only.
Saturday, October 23
- National Make a Difference Day – In coordination with Campus Ministries, the campus community is invited to make a difference in the lives of others and their communities through community service. Details coming soon.
Alumni Tailgating, in front of the gym, 10:00 a.m. – 12:00 p.m.
Alumni are invited out to tailgate prior to the game and enjoy free popcorn and cotton candy, cornhole and Bocce Ball, temporary tattoos and pompoms, and get information on the upcoming alumni events.
Homecoming Faculty/Staff Award Presentation, Ken White Stadium at 11:45 a.m.
Faculty and staff at Reinhardt are eligible for two awards, which are presented prior to the football game. The Jason Gamel Blue and Gold Spirit Award recognizes faculty or staff members who best shows their pride and zeal for Reinhardt University through their attendance, support and participation in athletic events, student activities, and campus involvement. The Captain A.M. Reinhardt Award recognizes an outstanding member of the Reinhardt University staff who has demonstrated his or her devotion to the mission of Reinhardt University.
