Reinhardt to host Master of Public Administration open houses

Those interested in pursuing their education to further their professional career in public service should attend Reinhardt University’s open house next month for its Master of Public Administration Degree.

An open house was held June 14, and the next one will be held July 18 at 6:30 p.m. at the North Fulton Center, 4100 Old Milton Parkway, Alpharetta. Classes being Aug. 22; the deadline to enroll is Aug. 1.

Reinhardt’s MPA is a practice-oriented, research-based and ethics-focused program. It is geared for those interested in administrator and policy analyst positions in local, state and federal government. A concentration in Criminal Justice also is available. The MPA is a four semester, 16-hour hybrid program. The two face-to-face classes per semester meet Mondays from 6-10:50 p.m. at the North Fulton Center. Each semester also includes one online class.

Dr. Karen Owen, director of Reinhardt’s MPA program, said the open house gives those interested a chance to meet MPA faculty members and ask questions to help them make a qualified decision about their future.

“Audience attendees can meet with MPA faculty members and the MPA Director, have their questions answered about the specifics of the MPA program, how the MPA differs from the MBA and how it can help their professional goals and career plans in the public and nonprofit sectors,” she said.

Reinhardt’s MPA includes coursework taught by leading experts in the field of administration, including current/former city managers and county managers, as well as finance directors, public safety directors and leading scholars in public policy. It provides a realistic course schedule for working professionals.
