From the moment Amy Belcher ‘99 found Reinhardt, the University found a place in her heart. Belcher was one of the first students to graduate with Reinhardt’s Bachelor of Arts in Communication.

“I chose Reinhardt because of its size, the people and the beautiful campus,” said Belcher.

She returned to Reinhardt after graduation to work as an admissions counselor, which was followed by a stint in athletics including coaching the intramurals volleyball team.

Now in Birmingham, Alabama, Belcher serves as the volunteer coordinator for Lakeshore Foundation, a fitness center for those with physical disabilities. She enjoys working with volunteers for each department, coordinating special events and assisting with community engagement.

Even though she’s hundreds of miles away, Belcher finds it important to stay connected and give back to her alma mater. She serves as the vice president of the Alumni Board of Governors and spearheaded, along with fellow board member Ben Garrett ‘92, the Alumni Classroom renovation that raised the money necessary to give a facelift to two classrooms in the Lawson Academic Building this year.

“She has always had Reinhardt in her heart,” said Dale Morrissey, director of Development and External Relations. “She is a hard worker and managed to keep a fulltime job and complete her degree, and has volunteered at Reinhardt for years.”
