The Georgia chapter of the American Choral Directors Association (GA-ACDA) selected a Reinhardt alumnus and a retired Reinhardt professor for two of its three prestigious awards. Max Rampley (RU-2021) received the 2025 Young Director’s Award, and Dr. Martha Shaw received the 2025 Distinguished Director’s Award, recognizing their outstanding artistry, leadership, and dedication in the choral community.

Also, at their recent Fall conference in Kennesaw, GA-ACDA selected Victor Rendon (RU-2026) as one of only two undergraduates in Georgia to share his artistry before hundreds of choir directors attending a conducting masterclass.

Rampley teaches choir at Alexander High School in Douglasville, Georgia and serves as the director of music ministries at Sam Jones United Methodist Church in Cartersville, Georgia. Shaw retired in 2024 as Reinhardt’s director of choral activities and professor of music and continues to direct the Young Singers of Flint Hall, which practices and performs in Falany Performing Arts Center.

In addition to participating in the masterclass, Rendon was one of twelve current Reinhardt students selected to perform with the All-College Honor Choir during the conference, comprised of universities from across Georgia.

These honors reflect the excellence of Reinhardt University’s music program and its commitment to cultivating exceptional talent and leadership in choral arts.
