Twice this Fall, on-air talent from an Atlanta TV station shared their professional insights with Reinhardt communications students. On October 23, 2025, Harry Samler, known on Atlanta News First as investigative journalist “Better Call Harry,” visited an On-Camera Practicum class taught by Adjunct Instructor Scott Hudson. A few weeks earlier, Atlanta News First’s morning news anchor Gurvir Dhindsa delivered an equally impactful presentation to another of Hudson’s classes.

With over 20 years as a successful consumer protection reporter, Samler’s storytelling and problem-solving video clips engaged students. He showed how compelling videos can tell a story better than narration such as his actions to get a faulty refrigerator replaced, and the consumer’s extraordinary reaction.

Dhindsa, a news anchor since 1997 in Atlanta and Washington, DC, provided an intriguing perspective about careers in news and features, and detailed how her career progressed. With many of the students considering careers in sports media, the experts inspired them to consider additional options.

Hudson arranged the guest speakers. He reflected, “Students learned a great deal about all aspects of television production, as well as the demands of being a multi-media journalist.” Hudson, who began teaching at Reinhardt this Fall, brings a background in radio and TV. He integrates real-world examples into his lessons and plans to arrange a TV station tour and a return of celebrity guests next semester.
