The new year holds new responsibilities and high honor for Reinhardt alumnus Zaine Hedge (RU-2011). Douglas County’s Superior Court judges unanimously appointed Hedge as the new Chief Magistrate Judge for the county.

With his wife holding a Bible given by his parents, Hedge took the oath of office on January 2, 2026, administered by State Court Judge Brian K. Fortner. Hedge served as an attorney and law partner in Douglasville, Georgia, since 2014. He began his new position as the senior judge in Douglas County’s magistrate system on January 5.

Hedge reflected, “I am incredibly blessed by the goodness God has shown me. Accomplishing this life goal is nothing short of miraculous.” Reinhardt extends sincere congratulations to Hedge as he furthers a distinguished career of public service and leadership.
