Walking into Reinhardt University’s James and Sis Brown Athletic Center and Joseph Baxter Recreation Building, students, employees, and visitors are immediately met with a renewed sense of energy, pride, and purpose.

Ongoing renovations of technology, equipment, functionality, and aesthetics throughout the building are transforming the space into a modern, dynamic environment to support performance, wellness, and community. With approximately 676 student-athletes currently enrolled, these improvements enhance the daily experience on the Reinhardt campus.

Just inside the entrance, an all-in-one video board provides a prominent location for announcements and information. In the gym, two new digital video scoreboards will enhance the game-day experience for athletes and fans. Renovations to the men’s and women’s basketball locker rooms provide modern, functional environments that contribute to team pride and preparation.

The hallway, featuring updated branding, fresh paint, and vibrant photos of student-athletes in each sport, leads to a newly created lounge offering a welcoming space for conversation, relaxation, and community building. New equipment, including treadmills, rowing machines, and upgraded strength-training resources fill the weight room, providing for safe and efficient exercise for students and employees. Refreshed second-floor classrooms reinforce the integration of academics and athletics.

These upgrades not only benefit the current campus community but also leave a strong impression on prospective student-athletes visiting campus. Recruits are welcomed into facilities that demonstrate the University’s commitment to excellence, growth, and long-term investment in its athletics programs.

Led by Executive Director of Athletics Jonathan Burton and made possible through Athletics Department fundraising efforts, the upgrades establish a cohesive and professional atmosphere exhibiting Reinhardt Athletics’ identity. They also reflect a shared dedication to ensuring Reinhardt student-athletes have the resources to thrive—academically, athletically, and personally.
