New Student Induction Ceremony
August 23, 2018 @ 7:30 pm
Like all great universities, Reinhardt University conducts several ceremonies each year with fanfare and pageantry. The Induction Ceremony is an annual academic event which signals the beginning of a student’s college career. It is intended to mirror the symbolism and importance of commencement, which celebrates the student’s completion of studies.
During the ceremony new students will receive a personal welcome from Dr. Kina Mallard, President of Reinhardt University, and other distinguished guests. These speakers give words of welcome, advice for a successful first year, and inspiration to Reinhardt University’s newest class.
Also during the ceremony new students will be charged to uphold the University’s Honor Code and will have an opportunity to sign the Honor Pledge, thereby being officially inducted into the Reinhardt Community.
Students should arrive no later than 7:00 PM at the Falany Performing Arts Center. Students will be seated according to their FYS class.
Please note that this event is mandatory for all freshman students and as this is a formal ceremony, please dress appropriately. Ladies should wear dresses or suits and gentlemen should wear suits or sport-coats with a dress shirt, tie and dress shoes.
Immediately following the ceremony, the Class of 2021 picture will be taken in front of the Falany Performing Arts Center.
From the colorful processional of faculty, staff, and administrators to the eloquent words of advice from the keynote speaker, this ceremony promises to be a memorable and exciting start for Reinhardt University’s newest undergraduate students.
Please feel free to contact the Office of Student Activities if you have any questions about this ceremony.
