A spirited group of Reinhardt students experienced rappelling the sandstone cliffs in Alabama’s beautiful Little River Canyon National Preserve on February 21, 2026. The trip continued with an exploration of Cloudland Canyon State Park with its impressive views of the rugged canyons and beautiful waterfalls.
“We had such a fun and adventurous weekend,” reflected Mishthi Mehta (RU-2029). “Rappelling was both exciting and a little challenging in the best way. I ended up rappelling twice because of our little “cave hike” detour, which turned into a memorable bonus adventure. One of my favorite parts was the uphill hike after rappelling. It made the whole experience feel complete. Even the drive there and back was beautiful.”
The excursion was part of the Reinhardt Outdoors program, which provides opportunities for students to experience various outdoor activities throughout the year. In the Fall, students enjoyed whitewater rafting and ziplining.
