When Luke Daniel ‘15 was a Reinhardt student, he not only played baseball but led his team as a captain. Now, he uses his love for the game to connect with his community in Cartersville and at Reinhardt.

After earning a degree from Reinhardt’s McCamish School of Business, Daniel began working in risk management for Harry Daniel Insurance, which was founded by his grandfather in 1977 and continued by his father, Lee Daniel, also a Reinhardt alum.

In addition to his day job, however, he finds ways to continue participating in his favorite sport. Daniel spent two years as a board member, fundraising coordinator and volunteer coach for the Cartersville Little League Baseball program, and currently serves as an assistant baseball coach at his alma mater, Cartersville High School.

“I’m involved with some of the best high school baseball players in the state, and all of them are fantastic young men and truly a joy to be around,” Daniel said of his work at Cartersville High. “I also work with some of the top high school baseball coaches in the southeast, so the opportunity to learn from them is really special.”

Daniel, a member of the Alumni Board of Governors, remains connected to Reinhardt and his past teammates by assisting with freshmen move-in day and helping to raise funds for classroom renovations on campus.

He still goes waterfowl hunting every winter with friend and fellow Reinhardt baseball alum Zach Cagle, and he encourages current students to “cultivate close friendships” with classmates while they can.

“Not a day goes by where I do not interact with someone I went to Reinhardt with, and that means a lot to me.”

Daniel currently lives in Cartersville with his wife, daughters and poodle, and tries to travel to a new state with his family each year.
