Many of Reinhardt’s alumni serve in leadership roles throughout Cherokee County and the State of Georgia. One is alumna Linda Miller (RU-2021). She serves as the Deputy Director of the Cherokee County E-911 Call Center and oversees emergency communication personnel. Under Miller’s co-leadership, the facility was named the 2024 Call Center of the Year in the State of Georgia.

Miller began her career as a dispatcher in 2001. Having a passion for her job and a commitment to her community inspired growth. In 2021, she received her Bachelor of Science in Organizational Management and Leadership (OML) from Reinhardt University. While attending, she applied her studies to her work, explaining the curriculum was “practical and relevant, with a focus on real-world leadership challenges.” She also noted how the University was collaborative in helping her reach her goals while handling a full-time career. That same year, Miller received the Director’s Award from Cherokee County E-911.

Because the public safety industry is constantly changing and innovating, Miller strives to lead in those endeavors and develop strategies to more efficiently respond to emergencies. “While my degree was not the sole factor in my advancement, it significantly enhanced my ability to lead effectively, contributing to my success in a management role, Miller noted. “My focus will continue to be fostering a culture of continuous improvement, where our team members are empowered to contribute to the agency’s long-term success.”

Miller’s dedication to public service includes caring about those with whom she works. Due to the intense nature of their work, she also plans to implement and integrate more mental health support programs for the team. Furthermore, she emphasized, “I hope to leave a legacy of leadership and compassion that has strengthened the core of our agency—our people.”
