Reinhardt takes pride in its long-standing community partnerships. G. Cecil Pruett Community Family YMCA in Canton represents a prime example. On January 29th, Dean of Students, Dr. Walter May, participated in the Cherokee County Chamber of Commerce’s ribbon-cutting ceremony for the building’s newest additions and refurbishing.
A new esports lab located in the Reinhardt Room provides a safe space for kids to enjoy playing video games, compete as a team, and make new friends. Reinhardt University’s Esports Club will regularly visit and mentor the middle schoolers involved with the YMCA’s esports program.
Rommel RitaRita, Executive Director of the G. Cecil Pruett Family YMCA told the Cherokee Tribune, “Our partnership with Reinhardt’s esports team will be huge in helping develop the culture of positivity within esports.”
Dr. May is the chair of the Advisory Board for the YMCA in Canton and plans to continue building upon the partnership.
