Reinhardt University’s Center for Innovative Teaching and Engaged Learning (CITEL) hosted their inaugural Teaching and Learning Conference on June 17-18 on Reinhardt’s campus.

The conference titled MIXER 2021: Ctrl + C -> What We Learned was designed to bridge communications between secondary and post-secondary institutes on lessons learned during pandemic teaching and innovations they may carry forward.

Held in Reinhardt’s Hill Freeman Library, attendees listened to presentations from peers and engage in small group discussions across a wide variety of subjects.

“We were excited to present this important opportunity for these educators to gather together and share experiences,” said Dr. Mason Conklin, director of CITEL. “Summer is typically a time for educators to reflect on the previous year and this past year was particularly filled with more pressures than usual. It was nice to see those who attended enjoyed the networking and subjects discussed. We look forward to next year!”

Reinhardt University’s CITEL provides in-person and online workshops, resources for course planning and instructional design, white papers on innovative instructional practices, and consultation services. CITEL was established by a generous grant from the Goizueta Foundation and manages internal grants made possible by these funds

Dr. Conklin shares the importance of the center and this year’s conference, “we were excited to see our Center evolve into a hub of conversation centering around innovative teaching practices that engender engaged student learning.”
