The food pantry relaunched earlier this month at Reinhardt to help support student needs. Stocked with toiletry items and food students will eat, the pantry is open 24/7 or as needed. Donations are received from local churches and ministries, as well as purchasing some of the supplies. A recommended list of items to donate is available.
The pantry is a part of the Student Health Center, which is run by nurse Gwen Chambers. Chambers is a Waleska native and Reinhardt alumna. Health Care Assistant Lauren Woods is also a Reinhardt alumna who encourages students to use the food pantry whenever they need it, “This is a super great resource for students, and I am excited to be a part of the team.”
Ty Trader is the food pantry advisor, in addition to being the Director of The Office of Prevention and Awareness and an FYS instructor. Senior and elementary education major Ariel Drake works as an advocate at the pantry.
Students can easily email foodpantry@reinhardt.edu to gain access to the items they need. Anyone interested in donating is also welcome to send them an email.
