Legislators at the Georgia State Capitol welcomed a Reinhardt delegation on Tuesday, January 13, 2026, during Georgia Independent College Association (GICA) Day. Led by University President Mark Roberts, Ph.D., and Trustee Randell Trammell, Ed.D., (RU-2003 & 2009), Reinhardt employees and student leaders met with state legislators and government staff to highlight the University’s impact on higher education in Georgia.
Throughout the visit, the delegation shared Reinhardt’s diverse academic offerings, innovative programs, and the vital role the University plays in enriching the state’s educational landscape. Legislators and staff engaged in thoughtful dialogue, asking questions and expressing interest in strengthening support for the mission and contributions of Georgia’s independent colleges.
Hosted by GICA, the day brought together campus representatives, college mascots, and alumni serving in public service. The collective presence enhanced the visibility of independent institutions across the state and reinforced their shared commitment to academic excellence and community service.
Dr. Trammell reflected, “I always enjoy legislative day at the Capitol. It is a very important opportunity for us to tell the Reinhardt Story. Our beloved institution is a jewel in Georgia’s crown, and her story must be heard by those with positions of influence. I was delighted to visit with two of Cherokee County’s legislators: Representative Charlice Byrd and Senator Jason Dickerson.”
