The October 2025 issue of Georgia Magazine featured the Funk Heritage Center and Bennett History Museum’s exhibition on early Appalachian settlers and Southeastern Native Americans. Titled “Echoes of the Cherokee,” the article describes five Georgia sites preserving the culture’s history, including the museum on Reinhardt’s campus.

One of the article’s photos illustrates the connection between the sites and the Cherokee people. It shows members of the Cherokee tribe standing outside the historic Chief John Ross House in Rossville, Georgia. The Funk Heritage Center and Bennett History Museum helped organize their tour.
Georgia Electric Membership Corp (GEMC) publishes Georgia Magazine, which reaches over 560,000 households statewide. “We hope that this feature will encourage new visitors to come to Reinhardt’s museum, as well as other Cherokee-related sites throughout Northwest Georgia,” stated Funk Heritage Center and Bennett History Museum Director Jeff Bishop.
