Reinhardt University’s Business Club hosted two executives from Intercontinental Hotels Group (IHG) Hotels and Resorts on January 27th  – Bruce Gibson, Vice President of Global Information Technology Strategy and Technology Business Management, and Terry O’Connor, Head of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Innovation. In a room packed with interested students, the discussion focused on leadership, strategic planning, and the role of AI in business innovation.

Gibson and O’Connor emphasized the importance of having a vision, setting clear goals, and building a culture of performance. They highlighted AI’s impact on large-scale automation and the need for continuous learning, adaptability, and collaboration. The speakers encouraged students to develop strong personal brands, embrace challenges, and remain open to new opportunities.

The event left attendees with a key takeaway: success requires both strategic planning and having flexibility to adapt, innovate, and grow in an ever-changing world. Students also had the opportunity to ask questions, including about internships and employment opportunities.
