For the sixth consecutive year, Reinhardt earned the Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention from Vector Solutions, an industry leader in postsecondary safety and prevention. The University’s Office of Prevention and Awareness (OPA) creates a safer and healthier campus through well-being programming. The distinguished award for 2025 recognizes OPA’s efforts in supporting student success, fostering a positive and inclusive campus climate, and encouraging wellness.
Exemplary OPA prevention education strategies engage students in events addressing issues including sexual assault prevention, alcohol misuse, mental health, and community building. It also provides outreach and advocacy for students.
OPA College Prevention Partnership Coordinator Destiny Newson (RU-2027) believes in the program’s mission and explained, “This job is one of the best parts of my day. I enjoy working with my team to help educate students about different awareness. OPA is always trying to make a difference on campus.”
An article by the U.S. Department of Education states, “A safe environment is a prerequisite for productive learning.” And according to Vector Solutions, Seal of Prevention recipients average an 8.3% higher first-year retention rate and a 9.6% higher on-time four-year graduation rate compared to non-Seal institutions. Only 12 percent of colleges, universities, and national organizations received this accolade.
