This past Spring, the University lost a beloved leader, Reinhardt President Emeritus Dr. Floyd Falany. As a champion of all students, it is fitting for the Reinhardt community to honor his legacy.
Dr. Falany was known far and wide for his unyielding enthusiasm for the University and its students. He traveled throughout Georgia, spreading inspirational words and sage wisdom, which sparked multitudes of alumni, friends, and strangers to support Reinhardt’s efforts. The enormous impact is deeply felt to this day.
From constructing facilities, securing endowments, and building academic and athletic programs to engaging some of the best-known and most successful philanthropists, business leaders, and politicians, Dr. Falany was peripatetic on a mission to serve the University and a greater good.

The Floyd A. Falany Emergency Student Relief Fund was established in 2025 by Reinhardt’s Board of Trustees. It honors Dr. Falany’s commitment to helping worthy students change the trajectory of their lives when they are most in need of hope. Dr. Falany felt keenly that every student needs to be heard, cared for, and supported in their hours of greatest need, so they can reach their potential to lead a good life.
The Floyd A. Falany Scholarship Endowment was established to honor Reinhardt President Floyd A. Falany at his retirement in 1999. The fund provides scholarships for students in the work-study program, a favorite of Dr. Falany’s.
