A new major will expand Reinhardt’s undergraduate offerings in the Fall of 2026. A Bachelor of Science in Environmental Science presents a new option for students interested in the natural world and the interactions between humans and their environment.
This interdisciplinary academic program integrates core concepts and methodologies from biology, chemistry, geology, and ecology. The diverse foundation provides students with the scientific knowledge and analytical skills necessary to explore environmental challenges, assess ecological impacts, and develop sustainable solutions.
Through coursework, field experiences, and research opportunities, Reinhardt faculty will provide a well-rounded education, preparing students for careers in environmental policy, conservation, education, scientific research, field methodologies, public health, geographic information systems, and beyond.
“The field of environmental science is constantly growing with new opportunities in extraordinarily diverse sectors,” stated Assistant Professor of Biology and Environmental Science Megan Hopson, Ph.D. “This new major will equip students with the fundamental knowledge and skills that they need to enter a wide range of careers prepared to tackle today’s most pressing environmental challenges.”
In the 2026-2027 academic year, the University will offer 46 undergraduate majors and 8 graduate programs. It also offers 35 concentrations, 47 minors, and over 250 certificate programs, in-person and online.
