Establishing and retaining a sense of safety, well-being, and inclusion earned Reinhardt the 2024 Campus Prevention Network (CPN) Seal of Prevention from Vector Solutions, an industry leader in postsecondary safety and prevention. This honor recognizes the wellness programs  developed by the University’s Office of Prevention and Awareness Services (OPA).

Vector Solutions annually assesses institutions using rigorous criteria for their impact across areas including sexual assault prevention, alcohol and drug misuse, mental health awareness and support, and community building. Recipients represent the top 12 percent of colleges and universities nationwide.

The OPA’s commitment to student well-being underscores the importance of supporting the whole student, which contributes to an increase in academic success. Led by Prevention and Health Promotion Director Ty Hatter, the OPA engages students in programs, events, and activities that promote positive health and well-being behaviors and a safer campus. It also provides outreach and advocacy for students.

According to Vector Solutions, recipients of this award have a higher retention rate than those institutions that did not achieve the CPN Seal of Prevention based on studies that indicate that when students feel safer, and more attached, they are more likely to thrive.
