Falany patrons will be transported back in time to one special night in Memphis when four young artists, who became American recording icons,  participated in an impromptu jam session.

It’s an evening of rockabilly, country, gospel and early rock ‘n’ roll with “One Night in Memphis,” a high energy concert that recreates Dec. 4, 1956, the night when Elvis, Johnny Cash, Carl Perkins and Jerry Lee Lewis recorded at Sun Studios.

The performance is Oct. 19 at 7:30 p.m. at Falany Performing Arts Center.

“Join us for this rock ‘n’ roll royalty jam session,” said Jessica Akers, director of the Falany Performing Arts Center. “It will be a night to remember at Falany.”

It all started when Carl Perkins was going to Sun Studio to record a song and met the 21-year-old piano player booked for the session, Jerry Lee Lewis. Elvis was in town and stopped by and was later joined by Johnny Cash. The result was an historic rock ‘n roll music event.

The nationally acclaimed cast members have an uncanny sound, look and feel of the original legends. The production also features an energetic rockabilly backup band.

Tickets are $40 to $45 for adults, $35 to $40 for seniors and $10 to $15 for children (12 and younger). Tickets can be purchased at or by calling the box office at 770-720-9167.
