Reinhardt University has been awarded a National Endowment for the Humanities Connections Grant of $34,941. The grant will be used to create a new Environmental Studies minor that will integrate the Humanities and Biology.

Dr. Donna Coffey Little will be the Director for the grant, and Dr. Zach Felix will be the Co-Director. The minor is called “HERE: Humanities and Environmental Studies,” and it will focus on the ecosystem and environmental challenges of North Georgia. Over the next year, Dr. Little and Dr. Felix will lead a faculty group to create a sequence of five HERE classes. The first courses will be offered in the 2024-2025 school year.

Dr. Little is looking forward to being able to make this concept a reality saying, “I’m elated to receive this prestigious NEH grant and to have the opportunity to create classes that will engage Reinhardt students in our local environment.”

Reinhardt University is one of only five grantees in Georgia of this award.
