The Reinhardt University School of Performing Arts recently announced audition dates for the 2020-21 academic year, providing a chance for aspiring performers to grow their skills and experience on stage while earning an undergraduate degree.

The School of Performing Arts will accept auditions on Feb. 6 and 20, March 20 and April 10, 2021. Audition dates are subject to change and will be updated at Auditions are required in order to be admitted as a music or theatre major or minor, as well as to be considered for scholarship. Early application is strongly suggested due to limited performing arts enrollment.

Reinhardt offers five bachelor’s degree programs for those interested in careers in the performing arts.

Music Performance emphasizes classical training and prepares students to perform in a variety of styles and genres simultaneously. This program prepares students for careers in concert or opera performance and in private teaching. The Sacred Music program provides instruction in directing church music programs, from praise groups to youth and adult choirs.

Music Education focuses on the classroom setting, where graduates will find success in elementary and secondary schools and complete their degree with K-12 certification. Music Education students will have the knowledge to teach in vocal and instrumental programs.

Reinhardt also offers opportunities for young actors in Theatre and Musical Theatre. Students enrolled in the Theatre program can concentrate on performance or technical degrees. Performance majors learn techniques used in modern and classical theatre, as well as film. Technical majors apply skills in lighting, carpentry and sound design.

Musical Theatre students train rigorously in voice, acting and dance to prepare for the competitive professional work force. The Theatre Department hosts five shows throughout the year where students gain in-depth experience in performance, set and lighting design and choreography.

Reinhardt’s School of Performing Arts fosters interaction between artist/scholar-instructors and students. The School of Performing Arts is honored to offer instruction and performance opportunities in all major performance areas. With 127-plus performing arts majors, Reinhardt has one of the largest private performing arts programs in the state. The University is a Kawai EPIC institution and an accredited member of the National Association of Schools of Music (NASM).
