Reinhardt University will host its 33rd annual Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic at the beautiful Capital City Club – Crabapple on May 4, 2021.

“The Dave Henritze Scholarship Golf Classic has provided more than $3 million in scholarships for Reinhardt University students,” said Dale Morrissey, senior director of community engagement for Reinhardt. “After canceling last year’s tournament due to the pandemic, we look forward to gathering to support our students who are in even greater need of work study opportunities and scholarship.”

The golf classic supports Reinhardt programs such as work/study, which provides all undergraduate students the opportunity to participate in work experiences on campus. This allows students to gain experience in a work setting while earning a degree. The Classic also supports scholarships for Reinhardt students.

“In spite of not being able to hold the tournament this year, we still had numerous sponsors and supporters generously donate to our tournament and to the scholarships it represents,” said Tommy Beman, chairman of the Classic committee and a former mentee of Dave Henritze. “We cannot thank those companies and individuals enough for their continued commitment to the students at Reinhardt University!”

The tournament is named for David Durham Henritze, one of the founders of the Reinhardt University Scholarship Golf Classic in 1989. He chaired the Classic for 10 years and, just prior to his death in 2000, the tournament was named in his honor. Today, his son, Fred, and grandson, Hunter, carry on his tradition as committee leaders for this event, while the entire Henritze family participates by way of support for the tournament.

The Classic day at Capital City Club – Crabapple begins at 8 a.m. with breakfast, registration, driving range practice and a putting contest, followed by a shotgun start at 9:30 a.m. A buffet and awards banquet will conclude the tournament.
