February 10, 2026, became a day of impact for students and faculty from Reinhardt’s Price School of Education (PSOE). During Dyslexia Day at the Georgia State Capitol, the group delivered awareness and insight to state lawmakers.
This 13th annual event unites families, educators, students, and advocates to improve literacy support and policies in Georgia schools. In 2025, the state enacted a law to enhance dyslexia screening and early literacy interventions, which identify dyslexic students at an early age.
Reinhardt is one of only a small number of colleges and universities in the state of Georgia to offer dyslexia endorsement for its education majors. Since one in five students in every classroom has some degree of dyslexia, PSOE educators and its future teachers realize the importance of instructing, learning, and providing tools for those students to succeed. They utilize opportunities including Dyslexia Day to enhance support among lawmakers, community partners, and advocacy groups.
Reinhardt Board of Trustee member Randell Trammell, Ed.D., (RU-2003 & 2009) provided transportation to the capitol and provided lunch at The Varsity for Reinhardt’s delegation. They were all honored to attend and spread the word on the importance of helping dyslexic students read, learn, and thrive.
