Over 120 high school band students from across the region gained valuable experience and exposure to Reinhardt during the annual Honor Band Clinic held January 16th through the 18th. Reinhardt music students helped run the clinic, while many School of the Arts faculty conducted instrument-specific master classes, instructing the high school students on performance techniques.
Outstanding concert performances by the Reinhardt Wind Ensemble, the adult community band North Georgia Winds, the Woodstock High School Wind Symphony, and the Creekview High School Wind Ensemble filled Flint Hall with spectacular music over the three evenings. The high school attendees blended into two bands and progressed from sight-reading the performance repertoire to final polished performances of their own.
Kerry Bryant, Ed.D., Director of Instrumental Activities and Assistant Professor of Music described the event as being similar to an all-state experience. It was an excellent opportunity for area parents and students to experience what Reinhardt offers music students.
