Reinhardt’s English department joined the Georgia Poetry Circuit (GPC) this academic year. This new membership offers new educational opportunities to students. Founded in 1985, the GPC’s north circuit is a consortium of ten Georgia colleges and universities working together to bring renowned poets to their campuses and promote creative writing.

“When a position was offered to become a part of the GPC, it was an opportunity we could not refuse,” explained English Professor Bill Walsh. “It’s an honor for Reinhardt to be one of the universities involved, as it’s one of our goals to bring to all students an experience they may never otherwise have.”

This year, three poets of national and international reputation are traveling to all members’ campuses to give free public readings and to meet with students and faculty. This GPC membership enhances the University’s creative writing program, promotes poetry, and provides important access to the literary arts for Georgia residents.
