Reinhardt President Mark A. Roberts, PhD, served as the keynote speaker at the Jasper Optimist Club’s STAR (Student Teacher Achievement Recognition) Program on March 25, 2026. Administered by the Professional Association of Georgia Educators, the STAR Program honors high-achieving high school students and the teachers who have had the greatest influence on their academic success.
The Jasper Optimist Club is dedicated to bringing out the best in Pickens County youth. Its annual banquet recognizes outstanding students from Pickens County High School alongside the educators who have played a pivotal role in their achievements.
Dr. Roberts delivered the keynote address titled “The Educational Relationship,” emphasizing the vital role of the student-teacher connection as the cornerstone of a true education. He highlighted honesty and humility as essential virtues in fostering the most transformative educational relationships.
