The National Security Agency (NSA) and a committee of academic peers validated Reinhardt’s Bachelor of Science in Cybersecurity through academic year 2031. This important milestone in cybersecurity education adds another level of credibility for Reinhardt’s rigorous and popular major.
This Program of Study Validation is part of the National Centers of Academic Excellence in Cybersecurity (NCAE-C) framework which externally reviewed Reinhardt’s cybersecurity curriculum against nationally recognized expectations for cybersecurity education and workforce preparation.
The broader CAE-Cyber Defense community includes more than 450 institutions nationwide. Of nearly 4000 universities in the U.S., the CAE Candidates National Center supported 563 Program of Study validations over the last five years. With only approximately 15 percent of schools meeting their standards, these statistics offer a sense of the scale of the national effort and the significance of Reinhardt being accepted as an NCAE accredited program.
Reinhardt’s achievement also reflects substantial work behind the scenes, beginning with aligning courses, documenting outcomes, assembling evidence, and preparing review materials. Next, the CAE Candidates National Center (CCNC) process includes mentoring, guidance, pre-submission review, and a three-month review of the published Program of Study.
“Most importantly, this validation affirms Reinhardt University’s commitment to preparing students for one of the nation’s most critical and fast-growing fields,” stated Nathaniel Holloway, PhD, Assistant Professor of Cybersecurity and Information Technology. “It shows that the University’s B.S. in Cybersecurity is aligned with a larger national effort to develop skilled professionals who can help protect information systems and infrastructure.”
