Trinidy Woodall (RU-Dec 2025)

By Suzy Alstrin

One of the new undergraduate programs introduced in the 2024–25 academic year inspired senior Trinidy Woodall (RU-Dec 2025) to change her major. Following the launch of the Bachelor of Science in Sport Media degree, Woodall learned it perfectly suits her career goals.

The sport media major offers a dynamic combination of business, sports, broadcasting, production, and communications-related media training—key to careers such as sports journalism, media relations, and marketing. An interdisciplinary collaboration between Reinhardt’s sport studies and communication faculty led to this degree’s creation.

Woodall, who also serves as an Eagle cheerleader, had previously earned credits toward business and sport studies majors. While considering a switch to a communication degree, she consulted her advisor, Dr. Joe Mullins, dean of the McCamish School of Business and Sport Studies. He counseled her about the new sport media option. Woodall ecstatically relays, “My career goals include social media and marketing, and I wanted a cross between communication and sports. Now I can go down either route. Studying both areas gives me more opportunities after college. I want to go into an industry that is always growing.”

The launch of the sport media program came at just the right time for Woodall—and for many other Reinhardt students. It was one of several exciting additions to Reinhardt’s 50-plus majors last fall, alongside computer science and information technology management.
